This double-walled malt passing through port wine barrels pays tribute to Scottish merchants who defied the high seas and played a catalytic role in the port wine trade. Port Ruighe, offered as “Port-ri”, is the Gaelic name for the once bustling commercial port of Skye Island. The aftertaste of the port combines the intense seafood of Talisker with juicy, sweet notes of rich berries for a great tasting experience. Each sip brings with it a sweet smell of smoke that fades along with the rich fruity scent of ripe plums. This single malt has a medium body and is smoky and enjoyable on the palate. The spicy pepper quickly evolves into a peat sensation, as the creamy smoky notes are mixed with spices and black fruit.
